Northwest principal to retire after the school year
(Grand Island, NE) - After 40 years in some form or fashion of Nebraska Education 12 year principal of Grand Island Northwest Tim Krupicka will be hanging it up at the end of the school year. Krupicka made the announcement public announcing at this past Monday’s monthly school board meeting for Northwest. Taking over the principal position starting next school year will be current assistant principal at Northwest, PJ Smith. Smith has been at Northwest for seven years. During his time as a teacher and principal, Tim Krupicka has served at schools over his 40-year career including Northwest, Greely twice, Dodge, Wilber Clatonia, and Wayne.
Also at this past Monday’s meeting, Northwest School Board approved the 2022-2023 contract for superintendent Dr. Jeff Edwards. The annual salary for Edwards will be set at $186,304. Dr. Jeff Edwards has been the superintendent at Northwest for now three years coming from Nebraska City.
