GISH Baseball Picks Up Road Win At Omaha Central
(Omaha, NE) - The Grand Island Senior High baseball team won their 14th game of the season on Saturday at Omaha Central by a final score of 12-1. GI would take an early lead of 1-0 in the top of the first. Add two more runs in the top of the 3rd to make it 3-0. GI would then bust it open with a five-run fifth inning to lead 8-0. The Islanders would add 3 more runs in the 7th. Omaha Central would get their lone run of the game in the bottom of the 7th.
Cohen Nelson would get the win for Grand Island pitching five innings giving up two hits, two walks, and ten strikeouts in the contest.
GI is now 14-6 on the season and will be back in action hosting Lincoln Northstar on Tuesday, April 23rd at 4:00 pm from Ryder Park.
